The Worcestershire film industry is set to sizzle this September, with the much-anticipated return of the Worcestershire Film Festival.

The Worcestershire film industry is set to sizzle this September, with the much-anticipated return of the Worcester Film Festival

The event, which starts on 25 September, is expected to draw the attention of both UK and international filmmakers and also coincides with the release of two films, "Speak No Evil" and "Joy" both featuring locations facilitated by Worcestershire Film Office.

"Speak No Evil," a psychological horror-thriller, is poised for release next month and stars James McAvoy and Mackenzie Davis. The storyline revolves around a family's haunting experience at an idyllic country house, turning their dream holiday into a nightmare. See the trailer to spot the location quarry location: 


Speaking about the role of the Worcestershire Film Office, The Production Team on the set of Speak No Evil, said "Once again we want to thank the Worcestershire Film Office team for all of their help during filming. Especially with fast-tracking the application, as we know this can be a lengthy process. The filming was a great success at the Worcestershire location and we very much look forward to working with the Team again in the future." 

Coming soon to Netflix, "Joy" a true story starring Bill Nighy as Patrick Steptoe Thomasin McKenzie as Jean Purdy, and James Norton as Robert Edwards who worked on the development of IVF treatment and the world’s first IVF baby. Worcestershire Film Office facilitated drone filming and traffic management at a location in Malvern. 

The Worcestershire Film Office provides a range of filming locations across the county from commercial and industrial buildings, parks and gardens, streets and roads, landscapes and woodland.
